Luca completed his Bachelor’s degree in Biology at the University of Bern and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Molecular Life Sciences with a specialization in molecular and cell biology. He joined the lab in August 2026, where he studies different aspects of succulent leaf development in Kalanchoë laxiflora. His project aims to decipher the role of different anatomical leaf traits in CAM photosynthesis expression, combining molecular biology, plant biotechnology, histology, microscopy, and plant physiology approaches.
